guitar

So yesterday one of my friends came over in the middle of the night and taught me how to play guitar. We found out that the guitar I had was about 50 years old, which means it could be an antique! =). We first re-strung it, since it seemed as if the original strings were still on it. This is a guitar that my grandpa garbage picked for me several years ago and since I liked to think I was awesome, I tried adjusting the small "e" string and ended up breaking it. So I got new strings for it recently, and me and my friend put them on yesterday. Later, he then taught me a few chords and how to hold my hands..... omg, I didn't realize it was so uncomfortable at first to hold your hands like how you're supposed to. I then was told that it's a lot easier to play when you start to build calluses on your finger tips, for a stronger push on the fret and a cleaner sound. But obviously my fingers aren't full of calluses, so sometimes my sweet tunes sound sour. Throughout the night I kept trying the few chords he taught me, and eventually they became a lot easier to do. Then it was time to move from chord to chord..... it's SO hard!!! My fingers are very non-mobile, so moving even one finger was a struggle, imagine all 4 I had to use! It took like 10 seconds to move my fingers to the next chord position, haha. Today I practiced some more, and the feel for the chords seems a lot easier, but the my finger tips feel all numb from yesterday.
